Dr. Cody Pohler

Dr. Lauren Davang
Dr. Davang is a 2017 graduate of the Texas A&M University. She has been practicing equine medicine for the past 4 years. She is an avid barrel racer, a card holding member of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association and a director for Gulf Coast Barrel Racing Association. “My family and I moved to Wharton in 2008 to pursue our dream of raising AQHA registered barrel racing prospects.” She and her husband Mike don’t have any children, but have two dogs and three cats.
She enjoys all things equine but has a special interest in Equine Reproduction, mainly on Mare Management, Artificial and Deep Horn Insemination of fresh, cooled and frozen semen, as well as Embryo Flushes. She is also trained to collect stallions and process semen for AI and for cooled, shipped semen. She has a great interest in Sports Medicine and Lameness, including Pre-Purchase Examinations, Diagnostic Imaging, Joint Injections and Rehabilitation. She is well versed in Equine Emergency Medicine, including the medical management of Colic, Laceration Repairs and other unique cases that emerge.

Dr. Everett Alford
Dr. Everett Alford graduated with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University in 2025. He is originally from Sweeny, Texas and attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate education. Dr. Alford grew up in a ranching family that raised primarily commercial cattle, and showed cattle and pigs through the local 4-H and FFA. His veterinary interests include bovine reproduction and herd management, small animal reproduction, and small animal surgery.
He now lives in Wharton, Texas with his wife, Haley, and their daughter. During his free time he can be found either hunting, golfing, in a pasture checking cattle, or spending some quality time with his family.

Dr. Jacob Powell
Dr. Powell is a 2026 graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. Throughout veterinary school, he pursued a broad range of clinical experiences with the goal of becoming a well-rounded mixed animal practitioner. His professional interests include large animal reproduction, particularly bovine and equine, large animal performance medicine with a special interest in bucking bulls, small animal internal medicine, and surgery across species.
Originally from Austin, Texas, Dr. Powell has developed a strong appreciation for rural communities and the unique relationships that come with practicing veterinary medicine in smaller Texas towns. Outside of work, he enjoys playing pickleball and golf, staying active, and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Powell is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Association of Bovine Practitioners, and the Society for Theriogenology.
